Tiny Wireless Gateway

This little guy acts as a gateway between my online service and sensor nodes. Just plug it into a spare ethernet port on the router, supply power and wait for the light to go green.

The hub contains just two chips, the CC1110 and the ENC28J60. The CC1110 provides the digital radio and the brains, while the ENC28J60 drives the ethernet interface.

The network interface handles DHCP to get an IP address, DNS to find my servers and TCP to make a connection. The connection is encrypted and authenticated with AES-128 to prevent anyone meddling.

The radio speaks a custom low power wireless protocol at 868MHz and supports a whole house full of sensors. I'm building PIR motion sensors, mains relays and ambient lamps
